strangely, i never felt that when i came home...

no matter how fast or how slow, i seem to be okay...

maybe it's because i'm kinda slow in the first place.. it takes a while for things to sink in and by that time, i'm up or down to speed Laughing

I was told by fymk once that if one is subject to a lot of stress, one will either be on a buzz the whole day long and be very hyped-up, or one will regress into a semi-meditative state and deliberately slow down one's system to prevent system overload and subsequent malfunction! Laughing

I think I was a bit traumatised by stuff that happened here when I first came almost two years ago. Suddenly, I forgot all the stuff I used to know!! Shocked Shocked It was like semi-amnesia! Shocked And then, recently, it all came flooding back to me and my mind became sharper than it had been for the past few months.

I think our mind has amazing survival capacity and it does what it can to try to ensure our survival, whether we agree with its methods or not! Laughing

when i first got back home from the kiwi land.. i had the exact same feeling. Everyone's walking past me so quickly that I don't know what they are rushing for.

But now, I'm alright... takes some time to get used to the pace again...

Oh well, sometimes, our minds have a mind of its own, it seems!

Also, we can all adapt to work in different situations but you can't deny that there will be a few situations that we're just adept at, more so than others.

It didn't help that I have been working in an environment that I simply dislike. It's alright though, because come mid-February, I'll have the chance that I've been fighting and praying so hard for!! Mr. Green Yippeee!!!

let's see what happens when the new boss comes in... the current boss's rank is way too high to be here...

I hated my workplace for the longest time, esp the very political Aussie colleagues. And then I found a few friends, most of them foreigners like myself, who felt the same way, so there was comaraderie, which made things a lot more tolerable.

Now that I'm finally getting the big break I've worked hard for, I'm going to leave all my new friends behind and venture out again. Take a deep breath, take the plunge, and carve a new niche for myself! Mr. Green

Australian and New Zealand homes are the least affordable in the world, according to a US-based survey of 227 cities.

The 2008 Demographia study of international housing affordability listed 18 Australian cities in its top 50 of severely unaffordable markets.

The study rates housing affordability in the English-speaking nations of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, UK and Ireland.

The least affordable city in Australia is Mandurah (sixth-least affordable overall), south of Perth, where houses cost 9.5 times a household's average annual income, with Sydney (8.6), Perth (7.6) and Melbourne (7.3) in 11th, 19th and 22nd place overall.

Demographia rates a city's housing market "affordable" when the cost of an average home is three (or less) times average household income, "seriously unaffordable" for four times the average and "seriously unaffordable" for five times.

"On average, Australian families are forced to spend 6.1 times their entire household income to buy a typical home compared with 3.1 times in Canada and 3.6 times in the US, and that's before interest charges."

i find that in most cases, rank is inversely related to competence Laughing

should see the other day.. within a few minutes, she described the same annual report by another organisation as "lousy.. too small, too many words" to "perfect.. wonderful.. great words.." back to "cannot use.. bad size.. totally lousy"

I managed to get selected for an ICU bridging program so I get to work in the ICU for three days a week, and the other two days in my current ward. Mr. Green

The hospital wanted to send me to a Post-Graduate Diploma in Critical Care starting this month, but I didn't have my PR yet, so postpone till June. If I STILL don't get my PR by then, nevermind, I'll ask to work in the Cardiac wards first to gain more hands-on experience with cardiac patients first before heading for the sponsored course in Jan 2009. Mr. Green

Actually, I don't really want to start studying until Jan 2009. Laughing Razz I've become too slack liao! Embarassed But tare, you still lub me, right?
